Piazza de Popolo by Moonlight

Last night had a perigee
moon that should be the
brightest all year. I wanted
to get a shot of the big
fat moon rising right between
the church on the left and
the clock tower, but I waited
too late.

This view is from right at the
base of bishop's pedestal. (ravenna
was ruled by venice in the 15th
century, there are the same two
columns that you see in st mark's
square, but the locals changed out the venetian lion for a statue of the local saint.
I think st appolinare, but i don't have my rick steves guidebook with me.
